I introduced a plants named Promise Your Heart in 2008. Many years later, Daru Sharp observed that her Promise Your Heart plant was consistently displaying broken color, even if the broken color effect is not a show-stopper. I verified that my Promise Your Heart was the same bloom that I originally registered (no hint of a broken color). So the plant discovered by Daru had mutated and now has the broken color effect that it can pass along. This is important because despite the increasing number of broken colors that are being registered each year, there is a very limited gene pool from which they have all been bred. So, both Daru and I are testing Breaking Your Promise to see if it can contribute some different genetics to this effort.
